Seminar on Data-driven Medicine

As a part of my working, I got the opportunity to attend a seminar on Data Driven Medicine. It was held in Tampere-Talo, a conference hall on 6th of April, 2011. HealthBio, FINNMID, Ubiquitous, IEEE and TUT sponsored the whole event. Tommi Aho, my supervisor was the organizer. I am really grateful because I never imagined that I can join such group in a foreign country. The main focus was to distribution and collaboration among data throughout industry, academia and diagnosis centers.
After the morning coffee, Matti Lehto gave the opening words (School of Medicine, University of Tampere). Our first speaker was Jan Eric Litton. Let me give a short introduction of him. Jan Eric Litton is Professor in Biomedical computing at the Karolinska Institutet. He was one of the initiators for the formation of the work group of databases and biocomputing in BioBank. Here he shared the knowledge about LifeGene and EUBioBanking and give an overview of how the large set of dataflow can be handled in future. Andre Sanches Ribeiro ( Tampere University of Technology) made an speech about Molecular models of genetic networks allow better understanding of cellular malfunction and differentiation. Dr. Tommi Nyrönen( Manager at CSC-IT) described how the european life infrastructure accelerates the biomedical research and development through data.

Standard PHP Library (SPL) is used to add classes, interfaces and functions to the core PHP. It extends the core language with the help of indexers and iterators. One of the 3 common SPL interfaces is ArrayAccess. I will talk about others a little bit later. Well I found this article in phpriot referenced by one of my collegue. Am a little bit lazy in searching for new articles ….

Well, any arbitary object can be allowed to use the array index operator ( [ ] ) by implementing this interface. all indexed object needs 4 methods to be treated as an array. Let’s find out whats those functions are : offsetSet, offsetGet,offsetUnset and offsetExists.

The 2nd interface is Countable Interface. It is implemented to count the size of the object. The method must be public.

The last one is Iterator Interface. This allows object to loop through by implementing this interface. We need to write 5 methods for this. Those are: current(), key(), next(),rewind(), valid(). This interface is the most useful one for SPL …

I have no idea of prototype.js . I started my javascript knowledge with JQuery. From a little cruisity , I googled the difference between jquery and prototype and I found the following features that suits with jquery:
1. Behavior driven development
2. MVC and J
3. Chaining of Action
4. CSS Selector
5. No checking for presence of an element
6. Development Aid

ummm …. how should I start …. I am feeling ashamed … … well, once upon a time I fought with the rounded corners heck ….. And Today I found the lamp of aladdin … every one knows the story …. Those days were hard enough … struggling with the css and pictures and div and tag and many more ….. can’t tell u the expression …. When i discover the jquery.corners.js , cant tell u how happy I am … just add the following 2 lines:

then add the little javascript

An article about ‘google‘ said that people are always tend to read faster font with black in white background than that of font in white with black background …. also people used to read article easily in sans-sarif font rather than sarif ….. A psychological assessment .. lol

AJAX & Me

I never thought when i would begin my graduation, this field would be much more fun than boredom …. As the years go round, i realized that Humor is something which belongs to computer science and its one of the most important part in the software … I am really glad that i made such a decision … well the career as a programmer is more excitement … I think i don’t have to tell this …. every programmer knows it because they are the visualizer … dreamer … lol ..

Before I found an article on AJAX, i thought its the most boring among all others script… You know I got wrong actually …… I found an article where someone wrote ‘ Before I found this weblog I thought Ajax was something we used to clean the bathroom.’ hahahaha …. well i found a some small application with ajax in http://www.miniajax.com/ most of these tools we found in the google ….. or wordpress or …. facebook … Facebook is getting smarter with the ajax … sometimes are annoying …. but i think they will have advance features …. This site is really helpful who don’t want coding ….. Hey am talking about ajax site not FB …. This site is a little workshop for ajax.
